Can I keep my clothes on?

The panels are designed to be used without clothing. The purpose of the light is for your body to come into contact with it. Clothing would largely prevent that. Therefore, undress the body parts you want to expose to the light.

How do I mount the panel?

Mounting the panel is straightforward.

Attach the panel to the wall, hang it on a pulley, place it on a stand, or attach it to one of the Sunsbest stands.

You will receive all the necessary materials with the panel. In most cases, these are metal cables that you simply screw into the panel. Then, attach the supplied pulley to the cables.

Tip: Determine where you want to place or hang the panel in advance so that you can start using it right away. Also, pre-install a hook on the wall or ceiling to hang the pulley.

The two largest panels, the Sunsbest 3000 and the Sunsbest 6000, come with a metal wall mounting system, along with the necessary screws, plugs, and stops. Attach the mounting to the wall and hang the panel on it.

Tip: Cut or fold a piece of paper to the dimensions of the panel. This can help you visualise what you will receive. You can find the dimensions on the pages of the individual panels in the “Specifications” section. So, click on one of the panels, scroll down, and next to “Description,” you’ll find the “Specifications” section.

Can the panel be made portable?

Yes, the panels can be mounted on mobile Sunsbest stands.

The panels, from large to small, can be horizontally and vertically attached to stands that are movable and adjustable.

This way, you can sit, stand, or lie in front of, next to, or under the panel.

There are two different stands available. One is white and has multiple positions, including one that allows you to lie under the panel.

The other stand is black and has only a vertical position. Both stands are adjustable and mobile.

I can't stand for long periods, can I lie under the panel?

Yes, you can also lie under the panel. For that, use the white Sunsbest stand.

With the white stand from the Sunsbest series, you can set the panel in multiple positions.

One of the positions allows the panel to shine downward. Place it near your bed or treatment table and let yourself or your client be illuminated while lying down.

There is also a floor stand available for the Sunsbest 1000 and Sunsbest 1500, which allows you to enjoy the light while sitting.

Is it harmful to look directly into the light?

The light from the panels is beneficial for the eyes. Just like with sunlight, this light is good for people, including the eyes.

However, it is advisable not to look directly into the light.

Close your eyes and experience the light. Just like with sunlight, you will notice how the light reaches your eyes through your closed eyelids.

It is possible to look at the light in almost all possible ways. For example, if you stand in front of it and look diagonally downward, it is not a problem.

Looking at the light directly once or twice is no problem, but better to avoid it. Tip: Start your session with your back to the light and let your eyes adjust to the abundant amount of light. Then turn around with your eyes closed and experience the light on the other side of your body and through your closed eyes.

Is there a cheaper version of the light panels?

The path to the best red-light therapy is full of pitfalls. If you’re not careful, you may end up with a cheap panel that looks great but does nothing for your health.

We delved into the world of red light and described the pitfalls in this blog. We discovered that most red light is offered without powerful LEDs, wide lenses, with only two frequencies, in panels made of fragile plastic.

The unaware consumer sees red light, but their body does not experience any benefits. The blog describes our journey that led to the development of Sunsbest with the best possible red light therapy.

Will my electric bill skyrocket?

No, because the panels consume a small amount of power.

Example (2022): With daily use of 10 minutes of the Sunsbest 1500, your monthly bill will increase by 60p.

Despite the Sunsbest panels containing many LEDs and having a high output, they consume very little electricity.

For example, the output of the Sunsbest 1500 is high (1500 Watts), but the input is low (350 Watts).

The Sunsbest 6000, the largest panel in the Sunsbest series with 1200 LEDs, costs about £1 per month for ten minutes of daily use – example from 2022 when energy prices were high.

The largest Sunsbest panel consumes even less energy than the average washing machine, which runs for a much longer time per cycle.

Is a larger panel better than a smaller one?

With a larger panel you can cover more body surface area in the same amount of time compared to a small panel.

With a larger panel it is easier to treat both that skin damage on your calf and the pain in your neck. But it is also possible with a smaller panel.

The Sunsbest 500, the Sunsbest 1000 and the Sunsbest 1500 come with a pulley so the panels can be moved up and down.

You don’t have to move a larger light as much.

For example: with a 1200 LED panel (Sunsbest 6000) you can achieve more in ten minutes than with 100 LEDs (Sunsbest 500).

Why does it seem like some lights are off?

Sometimes it may seem like not all the lights are equally bright. This impression can especially be seen in a photo of the light.

The reason it appears this way is that, just like the human eye, a camera lens is not capable of registering near-infrared light well.

Meanwhile, the near-infrared LEDs burn just as intensely as the red, visible lights. And your body experiences both types of light equally.

In short, even though it may not always seem so, both types of light are equally strong and contribute equally to your health.

Is this the same light as from the infrared sauna or the warm, red Philips lamps?

In the light spectrum, there is red light, near-infrared light, and far-infrared light.

Far-infrared light, like the well-known red Philips lamps, is used in saunas, and its effectiveness lies in deep-penetrating heat.

The red light in Sunsbest panels consists of two types of light: red and near-infrared light, also known as almost-infrared light.

The effectiveness of Sunsbest light is different from that of infrared lamps.

Sunsbest works in two ways: by recharging the cell’s energy centers, the mitochondria, and by promoting the production of melatonin in the cells.

You can learn more about the science behind the powerful effectiveness of Sunsbest light on their website and in their blogs.

Does red light also increase vitamin D3?

Your body is able to produce vitamin D3 based on, among other things, sunlight.

The sun frequencies that contribute to more D3 also cause skin aging.

Sunsbest red light therapy rejuvenates the skin instead of aging it.

This is the result of specific light frequencies chosen for the therapy.

As a consequence, red light therapy does not increase your vitamin D3 levels.

It may be disappointing, but for sufficient D3, you still need to eat and live healthily, and possibly consider taking a D3 supplement.

What is the ideal distance from the light?

The closer you stand to the panel, the more effect you can expect from the light. If you stand further away from the panel, the power of the rays diminishes, but at the same time, you increase the surface area.

In general, it is advised to stand or lie within a distance of 15 centimeters. The best light intensities are measured at this distance.

Now, let’s address the issue of electromagnetic radiation (EMF). Fortunately, even at a close distance of 15 centimeters, the EMF from the Sunsbest panels is negligible. So, you can sit or stand in front of the panel without any concerns.

What is the ideal duration to stay in the light?

Every minute you spend in front of the panel is beneficial.

With just around 10 minutes per day, you can already experience a positive effect.

The red light, with the best of the sun, is reminiscent of sunrise and sunset. Many users choose to expose themselves to the light twice a day: in the morning upon waking up and in the evening before going to bed.

It is not known whether prolonged exposure, such as several hours at a time, would have negative effects. The maximum adjustable time on the timer depends on the panel, either 20 or 30 minutes.

Even with the Sunsbest 6000 panel, which has 1200 LEDs, it is not a problem to stand in front of the light for half an hour or longer.

How do I know how much time is left in my session?

On the panel, you can set the desired duration of the session. Sessions last a maximum of 20 or 30 minutes, depending on the panel.

Set the time, press OK, and the light will turn on. The display will show the countdown of minutes on the timer.

Once the set time has elapsed, the red light will turn off.

The next time you use the panel, the timer will start from the previous session’s duration. This is convenient because after using the panel for some time, many people discover their ideal duration.

Furthermore, you can always change the set time easily using the touch-sensitive buttons.

Do I need a separate power supply?

You do not need a special power supply. Regular power outlets are perfectly suitable for Sunsbest panels.

Even the largest panel, the Sunsbest 6000 with 1200 LEDs, does not consume more electricity than an average washing machine.

Can I use the panel horizontally like a tanning bed?

Yes, you can experience the light while lying down.

Sunsbest offers a stand that allows you to adjust the panels to shine downwards. This is ideal if you want to enjoy the light while lying in bed or on a treatment table.

It may be redundant to mention, but the red and near-infrared light is very different from a tanning bed. A tanning bed uses UV light, which is avoided by Sunsbest. A tanning bed tans the skin, which accelerates aging. The light from Sunsbest panels does not tan the skin but rather promotes skin rejuvenation, among other benefits.

Does the panel create a lot of heat behind or beside it?

No, there is no heat produced behind or beside the panel.

The warmth generated by the panel is modest and pleasant, and it emits from the front side facing the person standing in front of it. Someone standing in the light will experience a pleasant warmth.

The quiet fans of the Sunsbest panels draw in air from the back and expel it from the front.

LED lights fall under the category of “cold light” and always feel neutral to the touch. However, they do produce a small amount of warmth. Since Sunsbest panels contain a relatively large number of LEDs, all these small amounts of warmth combine to create a comfortable warmth that is enhanced by the light. It feels like opening the doors on a sunny day and experiencing both the light and the warmth.

Overall, the panels remain cool, and there is no heat buildup behind, beside, or below the panels. The modest warmth directed towards the person in front of the panel is part of the comfortable experience they offer. It can be compared to a warm shower, a shower of light.

Are the panels suitable for use in the sauna or shower?

The red light panels are not designed for use in a sauna or shower.

The panels are solidly constructed with durable metal and emit pleasant warmth. However, they are intended to be mounted on a wall or attached to a stand.

My display says 'Sub1'. Is my panel not working?

If your display shows ‘Sub1’, it means you have pressed the metal button on the panel. This button is used to connect a second panel. Press the metal button again, and your panel will work as usual.

Does red light therapy help with seasonal affective disorder (SAD)?

Yes, red light therapy can be beneficial for individuals with seasonal affective disorder (SAD). While SAD is often treated with blue or white light, the abundant light and pleasant warmth emitted by the red light panels can provide a positive effect. Many people who experience the light during demonstrations often describe feeling as if they are lying on a warm beach, which can be especially helpful during the dark autumn and winter months. The sensation of being on a beach is an additional effect, but it can contribute to alleviating the absence of light in the autumn and winter. Daily light exposure can help individuals navigate through the long and dark seasons.

Do the LED lights have a long lifespan?

Yes, the LED bulbs have a long lifespan. If you were to use the red light for one hour every day, 365 days a year, the LEDs would last for approximately 137 years. Since most people use the light for around 10 minutes daily, the LEDs will last even longer.
